Not a new concept: dry up the stagnant pools of unemployment and thus the pools of people who have nothing to lose in, say, a fiery suicide bombing. Don't hold your breath, though: paleoconservatives hate brown people, and liberals hate labor from other countries (unless they're making overpriced foodstuffs for rich people's grocery stores).

Obama's lead has been slashed in Washington and Minnesota, and McCain pulls ahead in Colorado. Obama has the wind at his back, but I wouldn't be calling "landslide" just yet. I'm looking at YOU, Brookings Institution.
